The Cowichan riding has been represented by either New Democrats or Conservative/Reform members since World War II. The choice of who wins this riding is either the NDP or the Conservative candidate. There are many valid reasons to vote for other parties, and if we had proportional representation those votes would count. However, if you wish your vote to elect a member of Parliament, it will be either the NDP or the Conservative candidate.
